Barbara Farwell Alexander, MA, LMHC
Counseling and Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples  and Groups

Practice
Distress can appear in the form of symptoms such as anxiety, depression, anger, panic attacks, obsessions, compulsions, confusion, procrastination, self-numbing, or self-medicating.

My treatment approach is supportive and insight-oriented, and is based upon my deep respect for your innate strengths. It is informed by aspects of attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, systems models and cognitive behavioral therapy.

My goal as your therapist is to help you to gain an understanding of the meaning of your symptoms; to challenge destructive beliefs and patterns in your life which are not useful; and to guide your movement forward towards a more meaningful and satisfying life.
